Specialist CBT for PPPD & Persistent Dizziness
Helping you understand the cycle between dizziness, anxiety, attention and the nervous system, so you can gradually feel more confident in everyday life.
Hello, I'm Nicole Ponder, a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist and Counsellor based in Brandon, Suffolk.
I provide CBT and counselling for adults and young people experiencing a range of difficulties, including anxiety, panic, trauma, low self-esteem and relationship difficulties.
I also specialise in supporting people living with Persistent Postural-Perceptual Dizziness (PPPD), persistent dizziness and other vestibular difficulties.
Seeking support can feel daunting, especially when you've been struggling for some time or feel stuck in patterns that are difficult to break. My aim is to provide a warm, supportive and non-judgemental space where you can feel understood and supported while working towards meaningful change.
I hold a Master of Science (MSc) in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Counselling and have experience working across the NHS, charitable organisations and private practice.
Specialist CBT for PPPD
I specialise in supporting people living with Persistent Postural-Perceptual Dizziness (PPPD), persistent dizziness and other vestibular difficulties.
Living with ongoing dizziness, imbalance or feelings of motion can be exhausting and frightening. You may find yourself constantly checking your symptoms, avoiding certain situations, losing confidence or worrying about what your symptoms mean.
Using CBT alongside vestibular rehabilitation principles, I help clients understand the relationship between the nervous system, anxiety, attention and physical symptoms. We work together to break the cycle of fear and avoidance, build confidence and gradually get back to the things that matter to you.
How I Can Help

• Health anxiety
• Trauma and post-traumatic stress
• Low self-esteem and self-criticism
• Relationship difficulties

My Approach
My work is grounded in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), an evidence-based approach that helps us understand the links between our thoughts, emotions, behaviours, physical sensations and experiences.
I believe therapy works best when it is collaborative. Rather than simply being told what to do, we work together to understand what is happening for you, identify the patterns that may be keeping things going and find practical ways to make changes.
For clients experiencing PPPD and persistent dizziness, I also draw on my specialist knowledge of the relationship between the nervous system, attention, anxiety and physical symptoms. This can help us understand why symptoms can feel so persistent and how you can gradually build confidence in everyday activities again.
Alongside CBT, I also have training in counselling and can draw on different therapeutic approaches where appropriate, depending on your individual needs.
I offer in-person sessions in Brandon, Suffolk, as well as online appointments across the UK.
If you would like to arrange an initial consultation, I'm happy to talk through what you're experiencing, answer any questions you have and see whether I can help.

What I Can Help With
Therapy can help with a range of difficulties, including:

Anxiety and Worry
Do you find yourself constantly overthinking, worrying about what might happen or struggling to switch off?
CBT can help you understand what keeps anxiety going, develop practical ways of responding differently and build your confidence in managing uncertainty.
Panic and Health Anxiety
Panic attacks and worries about your health can feel frightening and overwhelming.
Together, we can understand the cycle of fear, symptom monitoring and reassurance seeking, and work towards feeling safer and more confident when these feelings arise.
Trauma and PTSD
Difficult experiences can continue to affect us long after an event has happened.
CBT can help you understand trauma responses, work through distressing thoughts and memories, and gradually move towards feeling safer and more connected in everyday life.
PPPD & Persistent Dizziness
Persistent dizziness and feelings of imbalance can affect your confidence, independence and everyday life.
I specialise in CBT for PPPD and persistent dizziness, helping you understand the relationship between symptoms, attention, anxiety and the nervous system. We can work on reducing fear and avoidance and gradually rebuilding confidence in everyday activities.
Self-Esteem & Perfectionism
Do you often feel that you're not good enough, put a lot of pressure on yourself or worry about letting others down?
Therapy can help you recognise self-critical patterns, develop a kinder relationship with yourself and build greater confidence.
Relationships, Grief & Life Changes
Relationships, loss and major life changes can sometimes leave us feeling overwhelmed or unsure of how to move forward.
Therapy can provide space to make sense of what's happening, understand your responses and find ways of coping with change.
